moments to treasure

LUKE 2:19
"But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart."

I just love Ethan so much! He is growing up so fast and I just want to take in and remember every little thing! I just love that Ethan loves to snuggle at night. I look forward to getting up in the middle of the night, I am going to miss this stage, because Ethan is so mellow and such a snuggler. Sometimes I find it hard to even want to go back to bed, or go to bed at all, because I just want to sit there with him. I love that he gives me such big smiles in the morning. I love his deep giggles. I love that he has so much energy and will just kick and kick his little legs. I know he just wants to run already! I love the way he pulls his hands up to his face when he laughs and smiles, almost as though he is shy! I sure enjoy our blanket times after he eats when he just talks and talks to me. He seems to know already when I am still and just look him in the eye. He just lights up and is a little chatter box! I love smiling at him. I am sure this is a good habit to develop; making time to look my kids in the eye and let them know I love them, I care about them, and they have my attention!

I too enjoy all the faces Ethan makes; all of them. He is even cute when he cries; I am sure that wont be the case for long though. He gets this huge pout lip with his bottom lip, and it's sure cute. His eyebrows tell everything he is thinking. I think he wears his heart on his sleeve! Ethan may have times of crying at home, but he always seems to be on his "best behavior" when guests are over or we have bible studies. Praise God. When he does cry, or scream for that matter, I find my self simply singing the song "your grace is sufficient for me, your strength is made perfect, when I am weak. All that's within me I lay at your feet, your grace is sufficient for me," by Shane and Shane.

I am so excited to see what God will do in our family, and I am so excited to have more children, Lord willing- many more, however, there is something to be said about your first child! I love that my time is not yet divided, and I can sit for long long periods of time just holding, rocking, snuggling, or just starring at Ethan. It's amazing how fast an hour can go when you treasure up such moments in your heart! Thank you Jesus that Mary set the example for every mother to do such a thing! I just love being Ethan's mommy, and I am so thankful that God has given Steve such a great job that I can stay home and not miss a moment. Thank you Lord that you have given me a great husband to work hard for us.

Now here is the litlte boy I treasure so much:
Ethan has started holding a rattle:

he is excited about it

Thank you cousin Robert and wife Emily for the wonderful blanket and burp rags! Beautiful!

Ethan is really enjoying the new blanket!

And finally: here is where I get to spend my early morning times with Jesus. I open one of the windows and hear the birds and it's so quiet and peaceful out before people wake up. I drink my coffee, pray, and read God's word!

Let me describe to you the other day: early morning sunrise. The sky pink, purple, yellow, orange. All of a sudden I hear a noise like wind. I look outside, and amidst this beautiful sunrise morning it is raining; a quiet yet heavy rain- no wind, just sunrise and rain. It was great because I was drinking coffee and sititng with my Lord in his word while this happened and my baby slept.
Thank you Jesus for early mornings with you! How I treasure these!
Psalm 27:8 NLT
"My heart has heard you say, 'Come and talk with me.' And my heart responds, 'Lord, I am coming.'"
