fall means...

Fall means: friends, hats, and jackets
Ethan is on the left and his buddy Jaxton is on the right. They are two weeks apart. Jaxton is the sweet boy of Shawn and Rachelle. Shawn works with Steve and Rachelle and I are becoming good friends!

 Handsome little guys!

We grilled outside at our friends' house and the boys fell asleep while we ate dinner! All bundled! Again, Ethan is on the left and Jaxton on the right.

Update on my new hobby:
Here is a girl hat I have made; for one of our girl baby friends! It's fun and easy!

Ethan's big ol' smile!

Watch out lady babies! Ethan is a good dancer like his Daddy!

Ethan's new jacket from Grandma and Grandpa Chamberlin! He really likes it!

Name that song artist:
Ethan has "one hand in his pocket, and the other one 'trying to give' a high five."

That's it for now! My boy is sooooo great! I praise God daily for him!

moments to treasure

LUKE 2:19
"But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart."

I just love Ethan so much! He is growing up so fast and I just want to take in and remember every little thing! I just love that Ethan loves to snuggle at night. I look forward to getting up in the middle of the night, I am going to miss this stage, because Ethan is so mellow and such a snuggler. Sometimes I find it hard to even want to go back to bed, or go to bed at all, because I just want to sit there with him. I love that he gives me such big smiles in the morning. I love his deep giggles. I love that he has so much energy and will just kick and kick his little legs. I know he just wants to run already! I love the way he pulls his hands up to his face when he laughs and smiles, almost as though he is shy! I sure enjoy our blanket times after he eats when he just talks and talks to me. He seems to know already when I am still and just look him in the eye. He just lights up and is a little chatter box! I love smiling at him. I am sure this is a good habit to develop; making time to look my kids in the eye and let them know I love them, I care about them, and they have my attention!

I too enjoy all the faces Ethan makes; all of them. He is even cute when he cries; I am sure that wont be the case for long though. He gets this huge pout lip with his bottom lip, and it's sure cute. His eyebrows tell everything he is thinking. I think he wears his heart on his sleeve! Ethan may have times of crying at home, but he always seems to be on his "best behavior" when guests are over or we have bible studies. Praise God. When he does cry, or scream for that matter, I find my self simply singing the song "your grace is sufficient for me, your strength is made perfect, when I am weak. All that's within me I lay at your feet, your grace is sufficient for me," by Shane and Shane.

I am so excited to see what God will do in our family, and I am so excited to have more children, Lord willing- many more, however, there is something to be said about your first child! I love that my time is not yet divided, and I can sit for long long periods of time just holding, rocking, snuggling, or just starring at Ethan. It's amazing how fast an hour can go when you treasure up such moments in your heart! Thank you Jesus that Mary set the example for every mother to do such a thing! I just love being Ethan's mommy, and I am so thankful that God has given Steve such a great job that I can stay home and not miss a moment. Thank you Lord that you have given me a great husband to work hard for us.

Now here is the litlte boy I treasure so much:
Ethan has started holding a rattle:

he is excited about it

Thank you cousin Robert and wife Emily for the wonderful blanket and burp rags! Beautiful!

Ethan is really enjoying the new blanket!

And finally: here is where I get to spend my early morning times with Jesus. I open one of the windows and hear the birds and it's so quiet and peaceful out before people wake up. I drink my coffee, pray, and read God's word!

Let me describe to you the other day: early morning sunrise. The sky pink, purple, yellow, orange. All of a sudden I hear a noise like wind. I look outside, and amidst this beautiful sunrise morning it is raining; a quiet yet heavy rain- no wind, just sunrise and rain. It was great because I was drinking coffee and sititng with my Lord in his word while this happened and my baby slept.
Thank you Jesus for early mornings with you! How I treasure these!
Psalm 27:8 NLT
"My heart has heard you say, 'Come and talk with me.' And my heart responds, 'Lord, I am coming.'"

3 Months!!!!

HAPPY THREE MONTH BIRTHDAY ETHAN!
12 weeks ago yesterday this little life inside of me became a wonderful reality! The more of life Ethan discovers, the more he smiles! He slept through the night for the first time last night and also has taken a new liking to hats!

Just charming! He has stolen our hearts!

The morning of his 3 month birthday, he showed us what he can do now! "I'm a big boy now!"

Winter is coming and Ethan is bald; so...I have picked up a new hobby and started making hats! I made this grey one on Tuesday!

It fit better after I added a couple of rows! He LOVES it!

Ethan this morning for early morning band practice! This 3 month old was sooo good for a 3 hour band time; he didn't cry once and loved mommy holding him while I sang! =)

Apparently I scared him!

This is what a 3 month old looks like when you wake him up for early morning band practice!

Here is his cute tongue again!

Oh yes, and I cannot forget the birthday cupcakes we made! Yellow cake with homemade chocolate frosting and sprinkles! He liked these so much; just like his Aunt Kori and Aunt Brooke! Ethan was a wonderful helper! I held him in the Moby wrap while we made them, frosted them, made dinner for daddy and prepared for our guests!
We celebrated with a bunch of friends and lots of food!

Looking forward to the next 3 months; and more!
WE LOVE YOU ETHAN!!!

A Smile for you Dad!

I just could not resist posting this cute little face!

Ethan loves his daddy! Steve took Ethan on an outside adventure the other day; put a stick in his hand, threw dirt on him, and Ethan 'walked' in the grass! Dad is winning his heart already! After that, Ethan begged me to wear this shirt today! *)

We love you so much Steve! Thank you for working hard for us!

10 weeks and an update

I adore this picture!

10 weeks:
We traveled to Grandma and Grandpa Chamberlin's house for 3 days, where Ethan really started laughing and smiling. Perfect timing; either that or Grandma and Grandpa are just more fun than we are! :)
Ethan is laughing, smiling, holding his head up, rolling over, blowing bubbles, and has discovered his tongue!

My brother Gabe and Ethan!

Laughing!!! Precious!

Changing Ethan at Grandma and Grandpa's house!
Ethan's goofy little smile!
Ethan was sooo tired so he slept in the couch! This we can no longer do because he is ROLLING OVER from tummy to back! Yay Ethan!

The exhausted wave!

He has discovered his tongue and is really good at drooling and blowing bubbles!

Labor day picnic with dad at Gray's Lake!  What a perfect day it was!

Ethan wanting to be like dad! Steve was filmed for the show cops and was given this hat!

sorry, I don't know how to flip my images to be upright! :(
